Drivers stay in the cab until called
Following the loader near miss at the weighbridge, all truck drivers must remain in their cab from the weighbridge to the tipping bay and back unless called out by the floor inspector. Loader operators must stop and lower the bucket if any pedestrian enters the receival hall. This is an interim control while the investigation is completed.

Lithium battery alert
A smouldering lithium battery was pulled from the pre-sort infeed last week. Sorters must remove every battery, power bank, vape and cordless tool they see and place it in the sand-filled battery bin, never in the residual chute. Sand bins and tongs are at both ends of the cabin. Report every battery find on the load record so we can trace the customer.

Regulated emissions report in final review
The annual energy and emissions report is in second review and must be lodged by the end of September. Site managers, please confirm your fuel, electricity and tonnage figures for the year with Harpreet by 15 September. Any correction after lodgement has to be reported to the regulator, so check the numbers now.

Community consultation meeting, Windsor
The spring community consultation meeting for the Windsor facility will be held on 8 October at 6:00 pm in the site training room. Neighbours will hear about the odour management improvements, the windrow turning schedule and the leachate pond upgrade. Staff who work at Windsor are welcome to attend. Minutes will be posted on the notice board.

Environmental management system internal audit
The annual internal audit of the environmental management system runs from 28 September to 2 October across all sites ahead of the certification body visit in November. Auditors will check licence monitoring records, chain of custody forms, load records, non-conformance closure and the legal obligations register. Make sure your records are complete and filed.
